Double-Take is a heartwarming, fun musical that is geared towards families and young people.
The story centres around two rival high-schools in the town of Meladale. Meladale Grammar is a private school, one that places a high emphasis on money and prestige. Salen High is a public school and is less financially secure.
The two schools enter the annual Meladale talent show, and given their immense rivalry, decide to perform the same theatre production in an attempt to prove which school is more talented. The various relationships between the characters from both schools, such as Mr. Oswald, Miss. Quickstep, Jeremy and Leanne, are exploited and emphasised in Double-Take, giving the play its source of entertainment and excitement.
Double-Take is a humorous and charming play that focuses not only on the two schools and their 'very different' means of preperation for the talent show, but on themes such as love, friendship, courage, perseverance, acceptance, and betrayal.
With a sharp and refined script, talented director, and varied cast, Double-Take is full of many surprises, twists, and funny moments. It should be a memorable show.
